FYC 1.6 Takes 3rd in Lethal Gamers LAN
February 10th, 2010
Our very own Counter-Strike 1.6 team had an eventful time at the Lethal Gamer’s LAN in Texas on January 30th. FYC came out strong in their first group play matches beating FoA 26-4 on de_lite, NotAPug 24-6 on de_nuke, and sky 26-4 on de_train, then they received a BYE. Their next match was a classic one nonetheless with both teams meeting in ESEA-Main the previous week. FYC was able to overcome 8bit in ESEA-Main but was defeated by them 17-13 on de_inferno. FYC’s next matchup would obviously be their hardest one at the event, LOSERS. Both teams fought well and neither team came out on top, tying 15-15 on de_cpl_mill.

FYC was now onto the finals, facing team sky right off the bat. FYC came out victorious fairly easily beating sky 16-4 on de_inferno. FYC’s next matchup was LOSERS, the hardest team thus far in the event. FYC was demolished by LOSERS 16-7 on de_dust2, being sent to the lower bracket. FYC quickly rose to the challenge and defeated b@m 19-15 in overtime on de_train. With confidence in the air, FYC managed to defeat FoA on de_nuke and move onto the lower bracket finals versus team 8bit. Although FYC was on somewhat of a winning streak, team 8bit certainly came to play, and knocked FYC out of the event in 3rd place beating FYC 19-17 on de_inferno. LOSERS went on to defeat team 8bit and win the event.

We were extremely proud of our Counter-Strike 1.6 team and supported them fully throughout the event and their ESEA-Main season. Due to some issues with a team member getting their steam account hijacked, FYC went from 11-1 ESEA-Main to 7-5, having to forfeit matches that the member had played in. This was quite unfortunate for everyone involved, and we were looking to reverse the effects that some ignorant kid had caused, but in the end FYC’s Counter-Strike 1.6 has decided it’s best to split up and go their own ways. Even if it were for only a month, I believe I speak for everyone here at FYC when I say that we were extremely happy to have such a talented team represent us during the short period. It was a very enthusiastic team and we hope for more teams like this to represent us in the future. We wish them nothing but the best of luck in the future.

Former FYC Counter Strike 1.6 Roster:
