FYC Akiri Featured on NADOTA
February 07th, 2010

FYC DotA's Akiri was recently featured by the North American DotA Syndicate (NADS). As elite a player as he is, Akiri is now a prestigous player throughout the DotA world. Check out the interview he had with NADS.

desRow: Hi Akiri, for those who don't know you, could you please introduce yourself?

Akiri:
Hello, I am the one and only Akiri. Currently play for FyC, played DotA for going on 4 years, 2 of which have been competitive. I do the occasional shoutcast for TGBF on North American matches and host The Last Word. I don't do steroids and I recently got my Associates degree in Computer Networking Systems.

Congratulations! FyC was a stable team in 2009 with their ups and downs like every stable team. Unfortunately, 2010 didn't start on a good note due to you guys missing several SECS and going through a roster change. Could you clear it up for our readers?

Akiri
:
Sure thing: For starters I'd like to announce that we are not dead or breaking up. During the Holiday break Jun left on foot and swam to the Philippines, meanwhile Huchi was consumed by the dreaded soul consumer known as "WoW." With two down, that left Hobo, Ganked, giX, TC, Empire and myself. TC has been playing HoN since we picked up FyC, and he enjoys it more than DotA on a casual note, reserving DotA for competitive means only. Then his work schedule changed and we weren't able to scrim much, he left the DotA scene completely (read his good bye article!). giX pursued his massive TDA gamecount, THR top 5 rank and competitive DotA with another team that was more active.

Not being able to roster 5, we took a short break, then Hobo, Ganked and myself decided we weren't done; we have a firm grip on who we have as our 4th player and will be picking up 1 more very shortly to tighten up our roster. Jun will stay rostered as last resort, since his return he wished to focus on school these upcoming months. We chose to keep the team to 5.5 players in order to create better chemistry and such, similar to former Blight.usa.

desRow: Would you consider your new roster more powerful than your previous one and why?

Akiri
:
Depends on which players were playing when you refer to "previous roster"...I guess you can put us as strong as we were when we beat Poker Idol or the Swedish Blight, we're gonna be the new hotness, ready to do battle with Korok's new team, mainLine, Euros and whoever else that plans to stand in the way. Three, now four, of us have played together for 3 months at least, myself and Hobo playing the longest for about 6 months. We have firm roles established for each player, but not one of us is restricted and I feel we have an extremely large range of heroes and strategies we can use, and use effectively. Sorry if I didn't throw anybody under the bus like you were trying to get me to. =P Oh...And the alter-FyC (GDT)!
