Default FYC's Kid D. Zaster 'KDZ' Heads To France for WGC

The World Game Cup in Cannes, France. An epic event that is set to host some of the best fighting game players across the world. Among this crowd of great players, stands an unique individual, a fierce warrior that has been battle tested and will stop at nothing less than greatness. The fire in his eyes still burns each time he picks up the stick and his opponent can do nothing but hope they survive.

This man is Kid D. Zaster.

Known as KDZ throughout the Soul Caliber & Street Fighter community, Phillip C. Atkinson has made a transition that few thought could be done. As last years winner of the WCG Fighter Club and runner-up for EVOLUTION 2009, Soul Caliber was clearly a game KDZ excelled at. This weapon based 3D fighter with a vast community has come to know his name and respect it as a top player in the U.S.

But, in this day and age, times change and as games grow old new ones step in.

This is the case with Street Fighter 4. A 2D fighting game that has seen epic sized tournaments and mainstream popularity unlike any other. Many players from other games realized it would be wise to transition over to this new game and try and compete at the same level as their previous.

Unfortunately, this is no easy task. While games like Soul Caliber and Street Fighter share the same genre, the comparisons to the two stop there. It is very rare to find a player that excels at both games and that is diverse enough and skilled to do so.

Many have failed, one has succeeded, and he is representing FYC at the World Game Cup in France this March 3rd.

KDZ will be part of the USA Soul Caliber 4 team as well as playing Street Fighter 4 in the main event of the World Game Cup. The event spans over 5 days and will feature over 15 tournaments across different games.

The pressure of an unknown environment will not rattle KDZ. He is determined to walk into France, on their turf, and take their most prized title.

We here at FYC wish Kid D. Zaster good luck in France. Bring home the title!

Hopefully we get to hear some updates from Phil soon. Hope he destroys the Japanese players while he is there and wins all the SC4 tournaments also.
